Fried Rice

Fried rice is a dish of cooked rice that has been stir-fried in a wok or a frying pan and is usually mixed with other ingredients such as eggs, vegetables, seafood, or meat. It is often eaten by itself or as an accompaniment to another dish. Chinese fried rice is moist but not sticky, and has a light, loose and fluffy texture. This is largely because our staple rice is the long-grain variety. They did it, creating a bowl of Yeung Chow fried rice (made with rice, eggs, chicken, ham, shrimp, dried scallops, and vegetables) that weighed in at 9,242 pounds. Chinese fried rice is the quintessential comfort food. Think of it—a bowl of steaming white rice cooked to just the right consistency, filled with bits of meat and vegetable. No wonder fried rice is one of the world’s most popular rice dishes! For the home cook, the beauty of fried rice is that it is very adaptable. rice, (Oryza sativa), edible starchy cereal grain and the grass plant (family Poaceae) by which it is produced. Roughly one-half of the world population, including virtually all of East and Southeast Asia, is wholly dependent upon rice as a staple food; 95 percent of the world’s rice crop is eaten by humans. It is packed with fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, which makes it a great option to use in recipes as opposed to plain, white rice. What is this? This fried rice is also healthier because it is packed with vegetables, such as carrots, corn and peas. Vegetables also contain nutrients like calcium, vitamin C, iron, and folate that support lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels and may reduce the risk of some types of cancers .
